This Week: October 6-October 10
Monday:
Today we will go over transition words and spatial order. You will be writing a 150 word description of your shoe today. It will need a good hook/attention getter, a good concluding sentence and at least 5 spatial order transition words (Due Tues.).
Tuesday:
End Marks. Do Diagnostic Test pg. 354 first paragraph. Read pgs. 355-359. Do Exercise 1, 1-10 and Review A, 1-5 (Due Wed.).Wednesday:
Place Description Mini Essay. Think of a place in school. Make a chart to brainstorm about that place with all five senses, plus how the place makes you feel. Then write a 150 word description of the place. Don't reveal what place you are talking about until the last sentence (Due Thurs.).Thursday:
Review End Marks. See Mrs. Heaton for review worksheets (Due Fri.)
Friday:
Blog Comments. You must leave three (nice!) comments of at least two sentences each. Graded on capitalization and end marks (Due Mon.).

Conclusion Activity. We will go over various ways to write satisfying conclusions. There is a handout that you may download below. Your assignment will be to write three different conclusions to your object essay. You will need to find your essay in your Google Drive and add the conclusions at the end in three different colors.

Mrs. Heaton gone-Day 1 of Magical Realism Lesson. Do Part 1 in your Magical Realism Packet. This packet can be downloaded below. Fill in Part 2: Movie Notes as you watch Tuck Everlasting.
Wednesday:
Mrs. Heaton gone- Day 2 of Magical Realism Lesson. Continue watching the movie and taking notes in Part 2 of your packet.Thursday:
Mrs. Heaton gone- Day 3 of Magical Realism Lesson. Finish watching the movie and complete Part 3 in your packet (Due Fri.)
Friday:
Blog #2. Write a 200 word (at least) blog post. You can write about whatever you like, but possible blog topics may be downloaded below. There are also links in the link section of this website to get you thinking. When you are finished, be sure to "submit for review" and hand in a blog rubric. A blog rubric may be downloaded below (Due Mon.)
